Advertisers are one of the most creative people in the world. Thanks to the serie Mad Men I was introduced to the history of advertising. We are introduced to some famous and attractive advertisements, you may know these examples.
Advertising during WO1. Uncle Sam.
A real Mad Men advertisement. Volkswagen.
And many more like Benetton, Coca-Cola, McDonalds etcetera.
Now, advertisers need to come up with something new, something that gets attention and publicity. Fanta has done it. To get more people to try its new orange-flavoured soft drink, they created the “world’s first tasteable print ad”.
What it is
Infused with the company’s “super-secret formula”, the edible and ‘tasty’ paper ad encourages readers to tear off the page and share the taste of orange with their friends. Willie Wonka would be proud. The advertisement is written in storytelling, so words and taste are used to convince you and you need to more senses then you’re familiar with.
Why it’s Cool
This would definitely spark a whole new set of ads in the print world. What would this mean to the advertising world, isn’t print dying? Time will show us, I like this idea of giving offline media a new boost. Watch the online introduction here:
